Responsibilities

The PSM Assistant Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation and coordination of the elements of PSM, RMP and CAA 608 programs, regulatory compliance, and the integrity of the industrial refrigerant systems, including ammonia and other cooling process systems at one of our various shore plants in Alaska. 

 

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs):

  • Gain a working knowledge of PSM (14 elements), RMP, CAA 608 and applicable state and federal rules and regulations. 
  • Assists in maintaining the above regulations, requirements, and programs. 
  • Documents routine meetings with designated refrigeration personnel and PSM Coordinator. 
  • Documents and follows up on action items from audits and inspections of plant performance and activities. 
  • Assists with and participates in PSM and RMP program activities at a local and asset level which include management of change, pre-startup safety review, and process hazard analysis activities. 
  • Learns to navigate and maintain local SharePoint site, reviewing then uploading completed PSM Documents. 
  • Promotes a process safety culture and drives improvements in the PSM/RMP programs. 
  • Assists in maintaining the facility’s RMP plan including the offsite consequence analysis as needed. 
  • Assists on corporate PSM/RMP compliance audits as needed. 
  • Provides support to PSM Coordinator during OSHA and EPA audits of the PSM and RMP programs, and other regulatory audits of refrigeration systems. 
  • Follows through with prioritized site programs to meet the needs of regulatory compliance, risk analysis recommendations, corporate policies, site specific procedures and audit findings. Assist plant staff in prioritization of action items to address gaps. 
  • Learns to conduct training in both small and large group settings. 
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience. 
  • HS Diploma or equivalent 

 

 

Preferred education and experience: 

 

  • Tech School/Program or Associate's Degree
  • Eagerness to learn and capable of taking PSM courses to advance. 
  • Food Processing background (Maintenance or Production)
  • Ability to calculate through basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to supervisor and other employees of the organization.

 

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 

 

Physical demands:  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. 

 

Mental demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand English, and utilize teamwork skills. The employee is frequently required to speak English, and use decision making skills. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training, and supervision skills. The employee will be occasionally required to read and write English, perform basic math, use exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.

Pay Range

USD $23.80 - USD $23.80 /Hr.
