Responsibilities

Summary:

 

The Fabricator (Welder) works with a variety of welding equipment to fabricate or repair products in the performance of the duties of a Welder as follows.

 

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs):

  • Welds and assembles metal components together with welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
  • Uses a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant, and shipboard equipment.
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Measures and cuts materials to specifications.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs):

  • 4 years of welding related experience doing Flux Core, TIG, and Stick Welding.

Preferred education and experience:

  • 6 years of welding related experience doing Flux Core, TIG, and Stick Welding.
  • 2 years welding in food manufacturing environment

Additional eligibility requirements (language skills, training, certifications, DL, licensing):

  • Knowledge of 3G/4G/6G welding passes.
  • Knowledge of food grade welding procedures and compliance measures
  • Certified High-Pressure pipe welder
  • Successful Completion of Trident Welding Test

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
